Russia’s GM-AvtoVAZ hopes to restart Chevrolet Niva car project
MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- GM-AvtoVAZ, a joint venture of U.S. car maker General Motors and Russian top car maker AvtoVAZ plans to restart its project to produce a new generation Chevrolet Niva cars, analytical agency Avtostat said in a statement on Wednesday.
The joint venture continues negotiations with lenders and authorities on terms of project financing.
“We need about a month to resolve this question, according to our estimates, but the process may require more time due to the unstable exchange rate and overall economic instability,” Autostat said citing GM-AvtoVAZ.
